IP Performance CISO Phil Cracknell interviewed on current HSE hack
IP Performance were contacted on Friday 14th May by the Irish Examiner for insight into the unfortunate situation at Ireland’s Health Service Executive (HSE).
As established incident responders, and with a wide range of skills, knowledge and experience on the subject, IPP were able to give some context as to what the HSE might be going through right now.
There is a significant ransomware attack on the HSE IT systems. We have taken the precaution of shutting down all our our IT systems in order to protect them from this attack and to allow us fully assess the situation with our own security partners.

Our CISO Phil Cracknell added after the interview that IPP’s Cyber Breach Workshop, which is now running virtually each month, has already seen an increase in interest from our customers. Organisations don’t want to find themselves in the situation that HSE Ireland are in right now and should an organisation suffer a cyber breach, they know where they can find expert help to assist. Our interview touched upon some of the how’s and why’s of the breach. Read the full article here:

IP-Performance recently ran 2 virtual cyber breach response workshops for Elmbridge Borough Council and we cannot recommend them highly enough. As well as lots of practical resources & templates to take away, the second day culminates with an simulation which brings a cyberattack to life. It’s highly interactive, slightly stressful, but most importantly really makes you think! There’s a definite buzz around cyber at Elmbridge now thanks to Phil and team.
